Ever feel like you’re trapped in the endless cycle of content creation?
One day you’re posting a killer LinkedIn thought piece, the next you’re scrambling for a video caption, and suddenly it’s Friday and you haven’t even thought about next week’s posts.
If you're a busy CEO, Founder, Executive content creation can be the last thing on your agenda.
Enter batching—the secret weapon of high-performing company brands and personal brands.
But let’s be clear: batching doesn’t mean pumping out robotic, repetitive content. It means a thoughtful and considered approach to content creation. When done right, it saves you time, keeps your brand voice strong, and ensures you never run out of ideas.
Batch Content:
-
Saves hours every week – Less context switching, more deep work.
-
Eliminates decision fatigue – No more daily “What should I post?” panic.
-
Ensures consistency – Because social media rewards those who show up.
-
Gives you breathing room – More time for engagement, strategy, and your actual business.
Here’s how to batch both written and video content—without losing creativity or engagement.
Step 1: Define Your Content Pillars
If you don’t have content pillars, you’re posting at random. Pick 4-5 recurring annual themes that align with your brand and audience.
With my personal brand strategy and social strategy packages I help both company brands and personal brands define these, but essentially they are the core themes that define your brand’s messaging and content strategy. They serve as the foundation for all your content, ensuring consistency, relevance, and audience engagement.
Think of them as your brand’s key storytelling categories. Every piece of content you create—whether it’s a LinkedIn post, a YouTube video, or an Instagram Story—should fit into one of these pillars.
Use SEO research and Social listening data to inform these to ensure you're not only speaking about what you want, but also what your audience wants — and what is going to differentiate you from your competitive set. These pillars guide every piece of content you batch, ensuring consistency.
Step 2: Plan Ahead with a Content Calendar
A content strategy isn’t just a list of posts—it’s a mapped-out system. Use a social management tools like Hootsuite if you're a brand or a simple Google Sheet for your personal brand to organize ideas, key dates, and batch production schedules.
Best practices:
-
Plan content at least 1 month in advance. I typically batch evergreen content annually as well as quarterly. Then I intermix news / real-time content when I have gaps in my content calendar.
-
Schedule around launches, industry trends, and evergreen content.
-
Assign days and posting times based on the data of best time to post in your social management platform. If you don't have a platform that tracks this then track performance manually in your Excel spreadsheet to figure out when your audience is most engaged and responsive to your content.
Step 3: Create in Bulk, Not in Isolation
Batching isn’t just about writing captions in one go. It’s about layering production so content flows smoothly. Here’s the smart way to do it:
Batching Written Content
-
Step 1: Brainstorm 10-20 content ideas (use audience FAQs, industry trends, or past high-performing posts).
-
Step 2: Outline all posts before writing. Hook, main point, structure, call to action. See my tips on Verbal Hooks. And if you need help with writing I have my 500 Social Media Hooks tested and ready to use OR you can hire me to help.
-
Step 3: Write 5-10 captions or posts at once. Momentum is your friend.
-
Step 4: Edit, refine, and schedule. Done.
Batching Video Content
-
Step 1: Outline 5-10 short-form video topics based on your content pillars.
-
Step 2: Write bullet points (not scripts) to keep it natural. View my blogs on Verbal Hooks and Visual Hooks to stop the scroll.
-
Step 3: Record in one session. Change outfits or locations if you want variety. I build brand consistency for my TikTok videos by always wearing black and having a clean and neutral background aligned to my brand colors.
-
Step 4: Edit in batches.
-
Step 5: Save drafts in your social management platform and schedule for release or repurpose clips across platforms.
Batching video requires more setup upfront but maximizes efficiency—you get weeks of content in one session.
